ABOUT BAREBOAT CHARTERS

The perfect getaway for those who have boating skills  and are looking for a private and intimate yachting experience. Just need to decide which region would you like to explore and we will help you to organize your ideal yacht charter holiday.

WHAT IS A BAREBOAT CHARTER

A Bareboat Charter means that you sail/motor the boat yourself . You need to have sailing experience on a yacht of similar size of the one you intend to charter. In most European countries additionally you need to have Sailing Certification for bareboating. For the countries you don't need a Sailing Certification,  we will send you a questionnaire to complete with your boating experience.  Once this is done we will forward this completed questionnaire (Sailing Resume o CV) to the charter company for the final approval.
On a Skippered Bareboat Charter you take a freelance skipper for the entire or part of the charter. You can also add the service of a freelance hostess. They need their own space in the boat: cabin and head. The way to work with skippers depends on you; you can involve them in your party as much or as little as you want, they are generally pretty good at being discrete and quiet.

Usually it is the charter company who provides the skipper and hostess for your skippered charters and you don't know them until about one week before the charter starts. See our FAQ's for more information.

CHARTER PROCESS FOR BAREBOAT CHARTERS

Once you have selected the boat you would like to charter, we will send you the following documents:  Booking Form, Charter Contract, Crew List and Payment Instructions. Please read the contract carefully, and check that the items and the calendar of payments in the invoice are correct.
To confirm your booking you will need to pay a deposit of the 50% of the charter fee. The balance is due 45 to 30 days prior embarkation. In the Mediterranean the extras such as: final cleaning, outboard engine, bed linen set…etc  are paid upon embarkation. In the Caribbean depends on the companies, sometimes with the deposit or with the balance.
In the Caribbean  a Sailing Resume  will be required and a Sailing Certificate in most Mediterranean countries.
As your charter date approaches you will need to submit a crew list and an arrival manisfest as well as any request for airport transfers.
Don't worry we will guide you through the entire process!
