Here are some simple guidelines to ensure a smooth and respectful experience onboard
• Always ask for permission before boarding the yacht.
• Remove your shoes upon boarding.
• Pay close attention to the safety instructions provided.
• Treat the yacht with the same care as you would your own home.
• Use oil-free sunscreen to avoid staining the teak and fiberglass.
• Try to keep sand and saltwater off the boat whenever possible.
• If the yacht doesn't have a water maker, use fresh water sparingly.
• Conserve electricity when the generator is off.
• Follow the toilet usage instructions precisely.
• Stay out of the galley while the chef is preparing meals, unless invited. Many yachts have designated snack areas for in-between meals.
• Pack soft-sided luggage or duffel bags for easy storage in the limited space onboard.
• Approach anchorages or moorings at a slow speed to avoid disturbing others.
• If using the dinghy at night, opt for oars instead of the outboard motor to minimize noise.
• Supervise your children—crew members are not responsible for babysitting.
• Smoking is prohibited inside the cabins.
• There is zero tolerance for drugs. The Captain reserves the right to end the charter immediately without any refund.
• If you're satisfied with the service, it's customary to give the crew a gratuity (10-20% of the charter fee).
• Always treat the crew with respect and kindness—they are professionals, not servants.
• And remember, the Captain's decision is final.
